What Early Clinical Data Is Starting to Show: A Preview of the Evolv GLP-1 Clinical Study

Authored by
Dr. Kwang-Chul Kwon Co-Founder of Evolv

At the 8-week interim analysis of our randomized, controlled clinical study, the data is already beginning to show meaningful early signals across weight, waist circumference, appetite regulation, and blood sugar markers. While the full 12-week study is still ongoing, the current readout provides an early look at how participants are responding to Evolv GLP-1 in a real-world setting, using objective measurements including body weight, waist circumference, Hemoglobin A1c, and participant-reported appetite outcomes.

The Signal: Consistent, Measurable Progress

By both week 6 and week 8, participants taking Evolv GLP-1 were already showing clear separation from control, with results continuing to build over time.

Week 6: −1.22% body weight reduction vs. control

Week 8: −2.87% body weight reduction vs. control

Notably, the data suggests many participants who saw more modest changes early on began seeing more meaningful acceleration between weeks 6 and 8, where the gap between groups widened most significantly.

This matters because the change wasn’t random or one-off. The data continued moving in the same direction at every measured checkpoint, with the gap between groups widening over time. That kind of steady progression is exactly what you want to see in a pathway-driven metabolic intervention.

Beyond the Scale: Why Waist Reduction Matters

Weight alone doesn’t tell the full story. Where the weight is coming from matters. Alongside reductions on the scale, participants using Evolv GLP-1 also showed meaningful decreases in waist circumference, one of the clearest markers tied to metabolic health.

Week 6: −1.21% waist reduction vs. control

Week 8: −4.02% waist reduction vs. control

Not every participant saw dramatic changes immediately and that’s important. Across both weight and waist measurements, the strongest improvements appeared to build over time, with separation between the Evolv GLP-1 and control groups widening at each checkpoint.

In many participants, reductions in waist size appeared before larger shifts on the scale, suggesting body composition changes may begin earlier than total weight loss alone would indicate. The trend suggests the body may be losing more abdominal fat, while preserving more lean mass.

Aside from the physical measurements of weight loss and waist circumference changes, qualitative measurements of appetite suppression and energy levels tell an encouraging story as well. The majority of participants in the Evolv GLP-1 group reported fewer unwanted cravings, less hunger, an increase in energy, and an overall improvement in wellbeing, including improvements in sleep and quality of life,  over the course of the 12 week study without noticeable decreases in muscle mass or definition. Participants also increasingly reported feeling more satisfied with their body and weight and feeling that weight loss became less difficult over time, suggesting a broader trend toward improved self-perception and metabolic support throughout the study.

A Subtle but Important Finding

Not every participant responded at the same pace and that’s exactly what we’d expect in an incretin-related pathway. Some participants appeared to respond earlier, while others saw more meaningful changes emerge between weeks 6 and 8 as the effects continued to build over time.

Even among participants who saw more gradual movement on the scale, reductions in waist size continued to separate from control, which may suggest a greater proportion of fat loss alongside lean mass preservation.

What Happens Next

The full study runs 12 weeks, which will provide statistical power, clear comparison and an understanding of trajectory over time.

The Bottom Line

Early data suggests that Evolv GLP-1 is supporting steady weight loss, reducing abdominal fat, and preserving lean mass, tracking within the expected range of incretin-based approaches. Additional findings and final study outcomes will be shared following completion of the full 12-week analysis.
